24 Apr RHA – Røyken, Hurum, Asker
Røyken and Hurums Avis have been the local newspaper for Røyken and Hurum for over 40 years. Today, the newspaper has 16,000 readers and is published on paper Tuesday and Thursday. In addition, the online version (rha.no) is updated daily with many local issues.
Since it became known that Røyken, Hurum and Asker are to be merged into one municipality, the newspaper has followed the merger process carefully. The goal has been to keep the citizens well informed about what changes are being made and what this means for each individual citizen. In summary, we can say that the mood in the three municipalities is positive, and that the merger has so far been a success.
The business community in the region has been developing rapidly. Ashes are by far the largest, while the smoke can show a very strong growth. Hurum has also seen a very good increase in recent years. The importance of the business community for the development of the local community is invaluable. “Locomotives” and workplaces on the outskirts are essential for a large municipality. In RHA’s editorial coverage of the municipal merger, we have noted that the business councils in the three municipalities are well underway to merge, and the cooperation seems to flourish. The business community will play a significant role in the development of the new big municipality, and Røyken and Hurums Avis will follow this closely through their editorial coverage.
Not least when it comes to following up the UN’s sustainability goals, which new Asker has used for its work in the years to come.
